A CLOSER LOOK AT EASTON S3 BAT TECHNOLOGY
The first generation of bats to start using a lot of advanced technology were Easton’s ‘S Series’ baseball bats. Although some technology has surpassed them in performance, they still remain an affordable and viable option for owning a really good baseball bat. The extremely high amount of sales these bats have enjoyed over the last 5 years or so speak volumes for how well those who have used this bat like it. Even today, these are still some of the most impressive bats that are out there in the marketplace for their cost.
If you look at Easton’s Mako line of baseball bats you will see they are all very similar in nature but have small distinguishing features. That is not the case with Easton’s S series baseball bats. There is no better example of that than the S3 bat. This is because the S1 and S2 models in the series are made of a two-piece composite material and the S3 is a single piece aluminum alloy baseball bat. Learn more in the Easton S3 Bat review below!
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT EASTON S3 BASEBALL BATS
This Easton S3 bat, as we just mentioned, is a little different than the other two bats in the series because it is not made of composite material. It is a single piece all aluminum alloy bat that uses revolutionary alloys to keep it rigid when it contacts a baseball but also keep the weight this bat has very light. That is pretty unique, to say the least. Easton S3 bats also come in a large selection of drop weights and they are especially lightweight in the ones made for the model’s youth baseball bat versions.
Many who have tried this bat think it is end loaded because of how far they can hit the ball with it but it’s not. It is a truly balanced bat. It just features a little bigger sweet spot than many other brand bats have and it is stiff and does not flex much when it strikes a baseball. Since the bat is balanced it also makes for very good swing control when using it.
This bat technology comes in both youth and adult versions that are approved for use in little league, high school, and many college baseball leagues. These bats tend to be some of the most versatile bats in the marketplace when it comes to satisfying hitters who tend to hit for power, average or both.

COMPARING IT TO OTHER EASTON ‘S MODEL’ BATS
Like other baseball bat lines that Easton has, the ‘S Series’ line of baseball bats has different models that possess different characteristics. Here are the sister bat models to the S3 and a little bit about what makes them unique.
EASTON S1 BAT
Unlike the S3 bat that uses one piece technology in its design, the Easton S1 series bat uses a two-piece composite construction. That makes these this version of their S Series bats even lighter that the S3 model.
They are also a balanced bat that appeals more to contact hitters that like to hit for average as opposed to baseball players that like to take the ball out of the park on a regular basis.
EASTON S2 BAT
The S2 model bat is extremely similar to Easton’s S1 model in construction but there is one big difference.
S2 model bats have an even thinner handle that does S1 model bats in the series. Because of this baseball bat’s hybrid similarities to the ultra-popular Easton Mako line of bats, this bat is being phased out of production at the moment and its future is in question.
OUR OVERALL OPINION OF THE EASTON S3 BASEBALL BAT
The Easton S3 can best be summed up as a lightweight bat that you can still hit for power with. It has a nice combination of being a one-piece bat with little flex in its design, of being a bat that is extremely lightweight and also of being a bat that is very comfortable to swing because of its superior balance also. This makes it a very effective bat that can be used to hit for both average and for power.
The price on Easton S3 bat is not bad at all either considering some of the advanced technology that goes into it. It is a durable bat that should last a whole season and its one year warranty will nicely back that up.
